Fueled by Chocolate Recipe

If you've ever wondered if Chocolate and running go together, the answer is yes. Chef Gonzalo Jimenez or Chef Gonzo for short, is an accomplished ultra runner and Chocolatier.


An upcoming guest on the podcast, Chef Gonzo has graciously supplied one of his favorite on the trail chocolate recipes for us to make at home. Whip up a batch and go out for an adventure!

Peanut butter crunchy bars


Ingredients:

  • 600 gr or 3 cups marshmallows

  • 90 gr or 1/3 cup butter

  • 360 gr or 1 and 3/4 cups rice crispy cereal

  • 225 gr or 1 and 1/4 cups peanut butter

  • 1500 gr or 8 cups of milk chocolate

Procedure:


Heat up in microwave the marshmallows with the butter and peanut butter. Mix until it becomes a uniform paste. Add in the rice crispy cereal and knead wearing disposable gloves. Roll the dough on a silicone mat and cut desired size and shape with a knife or a guitar cutter. 

Dip pieces in pre crystallized or tempered milk chocolate. Let it crystallize, package it, go for a run and eat it
